The Private Transportation Marketplace (PTM) is your mechanism to obtain capacity — either periodically through an RFP process, or interactively when you have an unusual capacity requirement. Your need is broadcast through the PTM to a set of carriers that you define. They receive notification of the loads’ availability by geography. The carriers respond offering capacity, including their rates and schedules. If your need is immediate, you then tender the load to the carrier using the offer parameters. The rate becomes a contract spot rate, which carries through to the WebSettle® component, ensuring proper carrier payment without exception or dispute.
