Functionality within On-Demand TMS® allows you to source new carrier capacity or re-examine existing contracts — periodically testing costs and capacities with your defined core carrier community. Procurement capability employs all the information aggregated in our vast True SaaS network to determine how much freight is moving into, and out of, your key markets. You can obtain information for preparing a carrier procurement, including the carriers serving your key markets and the capacity emptying in those markets. Procurement allows you to review your rates in contrast to current industry-wide rates in terms of base rates, fuel costs, and non-fuel accessorials and to determine where you are competitive and where opportunities exist for savings. You can also review rate increase trends to determine if the increases proposed to you are consistent with the industry.
The Private Transportation Marketplace (PTM) is your mechanism to obtain capacity — either periodically through an RFP process, or interactively when you have an unusual capacity requirement. Your need is broadcast through the PTM to a set of carriers that you define. They receive notification of the loads' availability by geography. The carriers respond offering capacity, including their rates and schedules. If your need is immediate, you then tender the load to the carrier using the offer parameters. The rate becomes a contract spot rate, which carries through to the WebSettle® component, ensuring proper carrier payment without exception or dispute.
